Report: Yandex stops sharing audience data with Mediascope
MOSCOW, Apr 1 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex has stopped sharing data on its audience with researcher Mediascope since the beginning of the year, business daily Vedomosti reported on its website late March 29, citing Mediascope’s General Director Ruslan Tagiyev.
Since the beginning of the year, Yandex has not providing Mediascope access to information on showing advertisements on its sites, and the Internet company switched off all Mediascope meters in mid-March.
Although Yandex has the right to refuse services to Mediascope, it was an infringement of the industry agreement, Tagiyev said.
A Yandex spokesperson said the company tries to exploit external meters less, which is a part of the program to improve standards of security in work with user data. “We find protection of user data very important,” the spokesperson said.
Yandex launched its own system in late 2018, called Yandex.Radar, which automatically selects about 10,000 of the biggest online projects by the number of users from Russia.
